Let’s Zoom Together

The Mill Bay Community League Public meetings have been on hold since March 2020. We have had enough cancel culture for the year so are heading online! The public meetings will be held on zoom and recorded, so you can watch at your leisure (or even 2x speed!)

The COVID-19 safety plan for the Mill Bay Community Hall has the capacity for only 25 people. We are committed to maintaining accessibility to these meetings because we know that not everyone in our community has a computer or is comfortable navigating new software. For those who would prefer to attend in person we will set up a screening of the meeting at the Mill Bay Community Hall. Keep in mind space will be very limited and masks encouraged.

The next meeting will cover Emergency Preparedness. This much anticipated meeting scheduled for the spring was keenly anticipated, and unfortunately interrupted. The COVID-19 pandemic has made us all aware of the effects of closed borders and shortages on supplies. What will we really need in an acute emergency? There are many survivalists online and a deep “prepper” rabbit hole that covers everything from dehydrated food packs to bidets to generators. What can we expect here in the Cowichan Valley? We will be joined by the Emergency Program Coordinator from the Public Safety Division of the CVRD to show us exactly how we can prepare for an emergency here in the South Cowichan.

Date and time are to be announced. Please keep in touch!
