Public Meetings During the Pandemic
Last year, The Mill Bay Community League was so happy to reintroduce monthly meetings on topics important to our community including an update from our area director Blaise Salmon. We were able to cover the topics of mill bay water, fire safety, community policing, and were so close to emergency preparedness. Ironically the Covid-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of that meeting!
We would love to continue these meetings, but haven’t been sure how to do that. We wanted to check in with you to see what methods of communication are optimal for these meetings. The community hall is limited to 25 people, which is much less than our regular attendance. If we are to continue these meetings through the pandemic we will have to move online. The upside is that technology has rapidly adapted to improve communication online. Plus now this information can be available to view at your convenience whenever you want! Questions can be asked in a live chat, or even sent in ahead of time if you aren’t able to attend the meeting live.
We will cover topics of emergency preparedness, taxation, and educational support during this pandemic. Please follow this link to a simple two question survey to help us move ahead with the next steps.

If you have any suggestions for topics to cover please don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us know. We love hearing from our community! mbclsec@shaw.ca
